Discover The Dirty Truth About Love Handle Exercises

AHHHHHH, love handle exercises….Everyone thinks there is some secret to this stubborn area, but sadly there is not. In fact, the truth is there is no such thing as any group of exercises for love handles. It just doesn’t exist. And sadly this popular type of myth is propagated by the internet and a lot of those exercise videos on YouTube that you can see.

But there is just no such thing as traditional spot reducing an area on your body with exercise. It just can’t happen. I wish it was that easy but sadly it’s not. Now what you can do are certain exercises proven to blast away stubborn belly fat and send your love handles on a permanent vacation through the use of a specific physiologically principle called EPOC.

EPOC stands for excess post oxygen consumption and it’s the cornerstone for a lot of my workout programs that I put my clients through. Now there are numerous reasons for this but the biggest is because this type of training induces the largest metabolic demand on the body, plain and simple. Regular cardiovascular training like hopping on the treadmill for an hour or 2 just won’t get the job done no matter what. It does burn calories but at a very slow pace. This is aerobic metabolism at its core.

Now regular slow and boring cardio does burn mostly body fat as fuel because fat has the largest energy reserves, but once you cease your workout, your metabolism automatically comes back down to baseline. Now when you play around with EPOC, things start to turn into your favor a lot more. When you induce a huge excess post oxygen consumption change, metabolism can stay elevated for hours upon hours.

This is huge news and something that you should really pay attention too. The reason is because you can burn a tremendous amount of calories while cutting your workout time in a half. I think that’s worth it don’t you think? Plus the other thing I really like about this type of training is that it’s very hard for your body to get used to it. It’s almost impossible for your body to adapt to EPOC inducing exercising.

And the best way to induce a huge blast of EPOC numbers is with interval training. Interval training is nothing more than varying the intensity within your workout and one of the best types of “exercises for love handles”. That’s it, nothing more. It’s not rocket science. It’s cold hard facts. The easiest and simplest way to get the most bang for your buck that you can do right now is just to go and hop on the treadmill for 20-30 minutes and crank up the intensity.

Once you crank up the intensity either by increasing the percent grade, the speed or both, you then bring the intensity back down in order to let your body recover. And you repeat this sequence a number of times until your workout is finished. This I promise, is the easiest way to start using interval training in your program. It will provide the necessary stimulus to induce change at the fastest rate.

All in all, as long as you remember this one point that there is no such thing as love handle exercises, then you’re well on your way to finally getting the body of your dreams without getting caught up on all the hoopla and false facts that you can find all over the internet and in the popular health and fitness magazines. Just start implementing some type of interval training into your program starting today, and I promise that you’ll notice changes really fast in your body on a week by week basis.
